I was told that in reiki 1 you are supposed to learn I think it was 2 symbols? one for permission to do reiki from the subtle body and one to end it.
I was told that if you dont use these symbols you can cause harm to the person and take on their pains/negative energies etc.....
- Symbols are normally given during the Reiki 2 level. The symbol you are referring to must be the Cho-ko-rei (CKR), the clockwise to open and "sunwise" to close.
If this is true I am concerned, as it isnt just me whom she taught. if not then I will fell better-Ever since I heard I even stopped doing reiki on my plants!!!!!
- Reiki doesn't do harm, period. Please refer to the recent archives for several gives on whether we need to protect ourselves or not.
- Ultimately, I think that checking in with Spirit and self-treatment will resolve your confusion.
- I do notice that where most Reiki teachers seem to be able to channel an attunement, sadly the "informal talk" with some ones is Very "dressed down talk," indeed. Actually, this is one of the answers to the question I put to Spirit, "Why me?" around my teaching Reiki. I personally feel a tremendous responsibility to my students (and subsequently everyone they touch) to live up to their educational needs.
