There is a story I recall about a Master Teacher in the Way of Herbs who had a star pupil that'd studied with him for many years. At last came the day of the final exam. Whereupon the Master Teacher sent the student out into the world to have him find a plant that was not medicinal. It took some doing, with extensive travel searching all the while and after many years the student returned to the Master Teacher to say that he'd failed to find any plant without medicinal properties and that it was all in the administration method and dosage following the guidelines of similarity and symmetry. The Master Teacher exulted that on the contrary he'd suceeded magnificantly by discovering this basic truth and welcomed him warmly as his sucessor.

These are not all tried and true for me (Disclaimer), my point of sharing this with you is to point up that common substances including plants and foods have manifold and sometimes unsuspected properties in our complex systems.

It seems intuition fleshed out with a deep sense of appropriateness and implicate order is the ground from which many miracles may spring. Believe it and you will see it.
